Scavengers are lazy animals that let other predators do all the work. The predators hunt for their food after they have eaten enough the scavengers come in and eat the rest of the animal.
Scavengers play a very serious roll in the ecosystem because the finish the dead animals remains.
Small Scavengers = Burying Beetles, Blow Flies and raccoons
Large Scavengers = Hyenas, Vultures
Sometimes lions, crocodiles can be scavengers
Hyenas Features= Claws, Sharp teeth, bone crushing jaws.
Vultures Features= Bald head so they can get into carcasses without damaging their feathers.
Burying Beetles features= sticky saliva for holding the dead remains in a ball.
Blow Flie features= key sense of smell
Raccons features= Claws, good eyesight, teeth, sense of smell.
Scavengers can hunt in the day and night and without scavengers the animal kingdom would be a mess with dead animals everywhere and spare body parts lying around all over the place.
